You’re not alone, and you’re not without help.

My mission is to encourage you on your journey, share some solutions that have worked for me, and empower us both make the most of our blessings and find purpose in our messes. But most importantly, I want you to know you are not alone. Loneliness is a deadly disease. We are pursuing life.

a brief introduction:

My name is Christy, and I’m a single mom who wears many hats. I have a son and two daughters. Professionally, I’m a non-profit executive director, freelance graphic designer, and church vocalist. In my “spare” time I’m a writer, Appalachian Trail section hiker, and aspiring composer of liturgical music.

I enjoy sipping tea, soaking in the tub, working in my yard, watching my children grow into themselves, recovering from chronic perfectionism and people-pleasing (let’s just call it what it is – lying), and uncovering my most authentic self, one day at a time.

You’re not alone, and you’re not without help.

In fact, that’s exactly why this little corner of the internet exists.
For both of us.

My mission is to encourage you on your journey, share some solutions that have worked for me, and empower us both make the most of our blessings and find purpose in our messes. But most importantly, I want you to know you are not alone. Loneliness is a deadly disease. We are pursuing life.

By putting one foot in front to the other, I’ve walked my way into a manageable, three-fold strategy for embracing the fullness of life:

SPIRITUALITY

SELF-CARE

SERVICE

A brief introduction . . .

My name is Christy, and I’m a single mom who wears many hats. I have a son and two daughters (ages 17, 13, and 11 respectively).

I’m so glad you’ve stumbled upon my little corner of the internet! If you've found something useful here, then I’ve accomplished my goal.

Listening for God

If you knew, absolutely knew, that God was going to be in a particular place, at a particular time, and would have a special message just for you, would you go?

When I go to church, I listen for the “one thing” God is saying to me. Because He’s there. He’s really present, right there in that room, week after week after week, and He really does have a special message for everyone there. Mine may not be the same as yours.

In 2012 I started keeping a list of the messages I got each week, some of which are listed below. I’ll also be adding new ones to the list. These are my “one things.” What are yours? Write them down each week, and by the end of the year you will have quite a book of spiritual wisdom. For me, that time is when I go to Mass, but I don’t believe you need to be a Catholic to hear the voice of your higher power; God is present wherever you’re willing to seek Him.
